मिशिगन की एक ऑनलाइन क्लास में स्टूडेंट की दादी को पड़ा दौरा, स्कूल टीचर जूलिया कूच एजवुड ने समझदारी से लिया काम और बचा ली उनकी जान

अमेरिका में पहली क्लास की एक टीचर की सूझबझ की तारीफ हो रही है। जूलिया कूच नाम की टीचर ने ऑनलाइन क्लास के दौरान फोन पर एक छात्रा की दादी से बात करते हुए भांप लिया कि उन्हें दौरा पड़ा है। उन्होंने तुरंत प्रिंसिपल को फोन किया और एंबुलेंस की व्यवस्था करवाकर छात्रा के घर पहुंचीं। दादी को तत्काल अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया और उनकी जान बच गई।

जूलिया कूच एजवुड एलीमेंटर स्कूल की पहली कक्षा की वर्चुअल क्लास में पढ़ा रहीं थीं। वे बताती हैं इसी दौरान एक बच्ची की दादी सिंथिया फिलिप्स का फोन आया। उन्हें बच्ची के स्कूल टैबलेट को चार्ज करने में परेशानी हो रही थी। सिंथिया से बात करने के दौरान जूलिया ने महसूस किया कि उनकी आवाज अस्पष्ट है। उन्हें समझ नहीं आया कि सिंथिया क्या कहना चाह रही हैं।

जूलिया को अहसास हुआ कि सिंथिया खतरे में हैं। इसलिए उन्होंने तुरंत स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल चार्ली लवलेडी को बताया। उसके बाद उन्होंने स्टाफ के जरिये एंबुलेंस को फोन करवाया। लवलेडी के मुताबिक ''जब मैंने सिंथिया से बात की तो उनकी आवाज मिनट दर मिनट लड़खड़ाती जा रही थी। यह समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि वे क्या बोलना चाह रहती हैं। मुझे मालूम था कि स्ट्रोक के क्या लक्षण होते हैं क्योंकि मैंने इसी वजह से अपने पिता को खोया था। इसलिए मैं उनकी मदद के लिए तैयार हुआ''।

83 साल की जून टर्नर को उनकी वीरता के लिए सम्मानित किया गया। हैनले प्रांत में स्टोर चलाने वाली टर्नर ने 28 साल के लूटेरे पर जमकर लाठी बरसाई, जिसके चलते उसे भागना पड़ा। पिछले हफ्ते हुए इस वाकये को बताते हुए टर्नर ने कहा - ''ये मेरा पैसा है, तुम इसे नहीं ले जा सकते। इस वीरता के लिए उन्हें एम्प्लीफॉन अवार्ड फॉर ब्रेव बिटन्स दिया गया''।

ये अवार्ड हर साल उन लोगों को दिया जाता है जो अपने साहस का परिचय देते हुए जान की बाजी लगाते हैं। टर्नर तीन पोता-पोतियों की दादी हैं। वे पिछले 45 सालों से अपनी दुकान चला रही हैं। इस आरोपी का नाम एरोन माउंटफोर्ड था जिसके खिलाफ दुकान में लगे कैमरे में सबूत मिलने की वजह से उसे दो साल की जेल हुई।

सीसीटीवी फुटेज में टर्नर लूटेरों को लाठी से पीटती हुई दिख रही हैं। वे काउंटर के आसपास उनके पीछे भाग रही हैं। जून कहती हैं उस लूटेरे को उम्मीद नहीं थी कि मैं उसे मार भी सकती हूं। मेरी फुर्ती देखकर वह भी हैरान हो गया। मैंने वहीं किया जो उस वक्त मुझे सही लगा। हालांकि मैंने कभी नहीं सोचा था कि मुझे इस काम के लिए वीरता पुरस्कार मिलेगा।

जून ने बताया कि वह लूटेरा दुकान में आया और कहने लगा कि मुझे यहां रखा पैसा चाहिए। वह काउंटर से पैसे निकालने लगा। जून के पास अपनी मेहनत की कमाई बचाने का कोई और दूसरा तरीका नहीं था। उसने अपनी लाठी से लूटेरे को मारना शुरू किया।
