Mcap of 8 of top-10 most valued firms climb Rs 1.15 trn; RIL biggest winner

Eight of the top-10 most valued firms together added Rs 1,15,837 crore in market valuation last week, with Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest gainer. From the top-10 pack, HDFC twins were the only laggards. Last week, the BSE benchmark jumped 574.86 points or 0.92 per cent. The benchmark had settled above 63,000-level for the first time ever on Wednesday. The market valuation of Reliance Industries jumped Rs 71,462.28 crore to Rs 18,41,994.48 crore. Hindustan Unilever's market capitalisation (mcap) gained Rs 18,491.28 crore to Rs 6,14,488.60 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) added Rs 18,441.62 crore taking its valuation to Rs 12,58,439.24 crore. The valuation of Infosys climbed Rs 3,303.5 crore to Rs 6,89,515.09 crore and that of Adani Enterprises rallied Rs 2,063.4 crore to Rs 4,47,045.74 crore. Uniparts India IPO receives 25.32 times subscription on last day of offer

The Initial Public Offer (IPO) of engineering systems and solutions provider Uniparts India was subscribed 25.32 times on the last day of subscription on Friday. The IPO received bids for 25,66,29,175 shares against 1,01,37,360 shares on offer, according to NSE data. The category meant for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) was subscribed 67.14 times, while the quota for non-institutional investors got 17.86 times subscription and the portion for Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) 4.61 times. The IPO of up to 1,44,81,942 equity shares had a price range of Rs 548-577 a share. On Tuesday, Uniparts India said it has raised Rs 251 crore from anchor investors. Global investors bullish on Indian equities market despite 86% premium: USB

Swiss brokerage UBS Securities said global investors are bullish on Indian equities market in spite of the 86 per cent premium it commands over emerging market peers and on the back of a 17 per cent outperformance so far this year. "India is one of only three markets to trade at a premium to its own history, (the other two being Thailand and the UAE)" despite it commanding an 86 per cent premium over its emerging markets peers, according to UBS Securities. In spite of the expensive valuations, most equity investors are quite optimistic, both from a cyclical and a structural perspective even though they see the economy losing the steam and printing in a 6.9 per cent growth this fiscal and a much lower 5.5 per cent next fiscal before settling at the long-run average of 6 per cent in FY25, UBS Securities said in a note on Tuesday. On Monday, its Wall Street rival Morgan Stanley said the Sensex would continue to outperform in 2023 with an average 10 per cent rally taking the benchmark .
