Eight of top-10 firms add Rs 42,173 cr in m-cap; ICICI Bank, Infy lead

Eight of the 10 most valued firms together added Rs 42,173.42 crore in market valuation last week, with ICICI Bank, Infosys and TCS emerging as the biggest gainers. Barring Reliance Industries and Hindustan Unilever Limited, rest eight firms, including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India and HDFC, made gains in their valuation. Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex dipped 131.56 points or 0.21 per cent. The market valuation of ICICI Bank jumped Rs 9,706.86 crore to stand at Rs 6,41,898.91 crore. Infosys added Rs 9,614.89 crore to reach Rs 6,70,264.99 crore. The valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) climbed Rs 9,403.76 crore to Rs 12,22,781.79 crore. Blackstone-backed Nexus files for $500 mn IPO in 1st retail REIT offer

Global investment firm Blackstone-sponsored Nexus Select Trust filed the draft paper with market regulator SEBI on Thursday to launch India's first public issue of retail REIT to raise around USD 500 million, sources said. Nexus Select Trust has a portfolio of 17 operational shopping malls across 14 major cities, covering about 10 million square feet area valued around USD 3 billion. As per the sources, Nexus Select Trust has filed the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and is looking to hit the capital market with India's first retail REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) public issue in the first half of 2023 calendar year. The size of the initial public offer (IPO) of Nexus Select Trust REIT will be around USD 500 million, they added. This will be the third REIT sponsored by the Blackstone. More preventive measures needed to curb corporate frauds: Sebi official

Since corporate frauds are inevitable to happen, principle and rule-based regulations are not effective remedy to curb such criminalities but more preventive measures are needed, a senior Sebi official said here on Thursday. Admitting that all companies, both publicly traded as well as privately held are vulnerable and susceptible to frauds, SK Mohanty, a whole-time member at the Securities and Exchange Board said the regulator is taking multiple measures to curb frauds and strengthening its enforcement mechanism. Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India on Tuesday said it has written to Sebi to stop OYO from launching its IPO in the wake of a penalty imposed by the Competition Commission of India on the hospitality and travel-tech firm for unfair business practices. OYO, however, said the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) is misrepresenting the CCI order and the letter to Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is to distract attention from the executive committee meeting of FHRAI being held as null and void by the NCLT, which has also ordered a court-monitored AGM of the hospitality industry body.
